The Hero to Hero Program transitions our military heroes to paramedic heroes.
The California Paramedic Foundation believes that high quality paramedicine is integral to the health of our communities. The Hero to Hero program gives military veterans an unprecedented opportunity to transition from their role serving our country to a role serving our communities as a paramedic. This benefits our communities with high quality paramedics and benefits our veterans with high quality jobs.
The program offers selected cadets immediate employment in the San Diego region with our partner AMR. While working, the cadets then move through an exciting tour of ground, fire, and flight-based emergency medical services where they get to learn skills from highly skilled paramedics in the region. The rigorous program prepares the cadets for paramedic school with our partner EMSTA College.
Upon completion of paramedic school, the cadets are then offered continuing education and job networking opportunities ensuring they reach their EMS goals.
