Jason Smith
Jason Smith is an experienced paramedic serving the rural communities of eastern San Diego County. His career has involved positions in both the prehospital and hospital realms. In addition to his continued work, he also field trains new paramedics and precepts paramedic-students. Jason is also heavily involved in the quality assurance aspects of his service.
Jason is incredibly passionate about paramedicine. He sees its expanding role in public health as critically important, and he values the impact paramedics can have on injury prevention. To that end, he works with healthcare leaders across the nation at various workshops and conferences to drive this industry change.
Jason leads the California Paramedic Foundation’s prevention programming. This includes nationally recognized programs such as the Nicholas Rosecrans Award and EPIC Medics campaigns, but it is rapidly expanding to new exciting opportunities. Jason leads the Foundation's Prevention Committee, a subset of our general membership, which connects California paramedics on prevention topics.
