Where it all began...
The San Diego County Paramedic Association (SDCPA) was founded in the late 1980’s. The goal of the founders was to improve and advance Paramedic prehospital care by creating a positive relationship between providers, agencies, and governing bodies, both at the state and local level. Since its inception, the SDCPA has come a long way. The organization gained vital representatives in the governing committees overseeing local protocol maintenance and provider quality assurance, has offered scholarships to future providers, and has awarded recognition for providers of excellence.
In 2017, the San Diego County Paramedic Association joined the California Paramedic Foundation. The SDCPA still serves in certain key capacities in the San Diego region with the Foundation taking on key aspects of education and advancement of care across the entire state.
We thank the dedicated professionals that helped pave the way for our organization, and who succeeded in bringing prehospital procedures and policies to a higher level throughout San Diego and the state of California.
